WIDE AWAKE.

Wow, it's amazing just how time flies. It's the middle of the year already. What have I've been doing for these past five months? Have I been living life to its fullest or just wasting time? It scares me how time passes so quickly. Really. Is it just me or people just prefer the beginning of each year rather than the ending of the year? Okay, I think it's just me. Somehow, I've always liked the first 6 months of each year. Maybe 'cause there's less pressure in terms of studies. Maybe 'cause things are always more happening in school in the beginning of the year. Maybe 'cause my birthday falls in the month of February (hehehe.) When each year ends, there's always this feeling inside of me secretly hoping that the year wouldn't end. Hoping that I could turn back time to January and start the year all over again. But it's pointless to hope for such thing. There's still a future. There are still many things that God has prepared for me. There are still family, friends, school, church and so on. There's still a life to live. But each month is just gonna get better aye? At least for me, I hope.
School hols have kicked it and the first week of holidays is coming to an end already. It hasn't been an exciting week, really but I started off the hols with the best way! Which is by attending the OIC Camp 2012 organised and held at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus! I've mentioned about this in my previous blog post and trust me, this is one awesome workshop! When I say it's awesome, I really meant it (I know, I've said that a lot of times in my blog but this time, it was awesomely awesome!).
I attended the workshop with Suet Ling and Woo. Leah was supposed to join us but she couldn't 'cause of some personal issues. Sad, but what to do. Anyway, we reached Taylor's really early (like an hour early), mainly because Suet Ling was in a mission for a new profile picture. -_-
The three of us joined the Rookie Cookie Decorating workshop. Initially, Woo was supposed to be in the Photography workshop but after she found out that she was on the waiting list, Suet Ling and I asked her to join the cookie decorating workshop instead. After registering, we were asked to wait in the Grand Hall. There were some ice breaking sessions which were fun at first, but then they turned out boring later. So when things get boring, we take pictures! :D
The stage!
Some cool wrist band that everyone got! Me gusta!
Cookie decorating was so fun! The workplace was awesomeeeee! I was totally amazed by the workplace as we were lead to the kitchen as I've never seen a proper equipped kitchen before (okay, that sounded so sad but it's true!). There was a chef instructor lady who I think is in her mid 50's, taught us what to do and how to decorate the cookies using the icing and decorative items. She showed us a demo before we were allowed to decorate our own cookies.
If you're wondering why is there the word "Lora" on the cookie, yes it is related to my name. The chef asked for my name and of course I told her. But Woo intruded and spelled my name as L-O-R-A instead. Pig. -_-
After the demo, we went to our stations and start cutting cookies using the pre-made dough. We were given cookie cutters of different shapes and we cut four cookies each. When we placed them on the tray to be baked, we were supposed to write our group's name on the paper to identify whose cookies are those and Suet Ling came up with the name 'Unicorns'. We were laughing at that moment and to our surprise, the guy who was supposed to collect the trays said "What's wrong? Rainbows and Unicorns are awesome." LOL LA DEIH, LOL!
According to Suet Ling, "FAITH IN HUMANITY, RESTORED."
Our workplace! Suet Ling kacau saje ish. :P
While waiting for the cookies to be baked, we decorate the pre-made cookies that were prepared for us. All we need to do is to decorate the cookies our own way! The cool way. 8)
The mess we made! Okay, I must admit that these icings look disgusting, but the cookies turned out yummy k! :D
My cookies!
With the chef lady instructor.
We were dismissed after the workshop for lunch on our own, so we had lunch at Old Town's White Coffee. After lunch, we had an Amazing Race activity where we had to complete tasks at different stations in a group of 32. We were in group 17, called the Party Rockers. At first, we kinda dislike our group as the people there were quiet and they do not look spontaneous, but it turned out that they are not what I thought after all! We managed to make new friends too! But the running was seriously tiring. Plus I was wearing flats and that's so uncomfortable for running. Still, it was fun! I think I lost weight from all that running hahahahahaha jokes.
When it was over, there was a concert held. There were singing, dancing, beatboxing, and magic tricks performances. We were all amazed by the beatboxing performance and Suet Ling fell in love with the beatboxer 'cause he is cute. As for the magic tricks, they were not very impressive but his jokes were really funny! Literally laughed our butts off! He can be a potential comedian weih. I kept screaming and cheering throughout the whole performance till Woo was like. "You scream so loud, everyone can hear lah!". Guessed that I was too hyper that time. xD
We even took a picture with the magician and the beatboxer! We had to overcome our guts to ask them for a picture with us and yay we did! Sadly, the pictures are a bit blur but YOLO DEIH!
To summarize the workshop, it was TOOAWESOMETILLWORDSCANTDESCRIBEIT! Will definitely join it again if there is one next year!
On Sunday, my family and I went out to Mid Valley and we stayed over at Cititel Hotel (which is in Mid Valley) for the night. We walked around Mid Valley for the whole day watched The Avengers at night. Finally, I get to watch The Avengers! I was looking forward to watch this movie since the beginning of May! It'a nice movie, but I wouldn't say it's the best movie of this year as it's just like any other typical action / heroic movies. I would rate it 7/10.
To my disappointment, I didn't get to buy much stuffs at Mid Valley. They are mainly because of the clothes are too pricey.
Still, I did got myself some stuffs to make me happy lol. But I like the idea of shopping the whole day and watching a movie at late night. Mom said she wants to do this again, but at Sunway next time yay!
Pretty pretty dress with pretty pretty price. :(
On Tuesday, I went over to Shas house for English project discussion with Woo and Samuel. It was a pretty failed discussion due to procrastination and laziness and cravings for chocolates (okay, that's just me! :D). But we managed to divide our jobs among each other at the end, so not so failed after all lah. Speaking about that, I haven't done any research yet! Hahahaha I'm so dead.
Yesterday, a few of us went over to Jack's place to make covers. Ended up with a very unglam cover that me, Woo, Suet Ling, Hedy, Delia and Jack made for fun. Now it's all over the social networks and I want to dig a hole and bury myself in it. No face already la aiyor.
But come to think of it, YOLO DEIH, YOLO!
