22-24 DECEMBER 2012: GENTING HIGHLANDS
posted: 10:30 PM | comments: 0

If you're following me on Twitter, you'd know that I went to Genting Highlands earlier this week. Left on Saturday and came back on Monday which happened to be on Christmas Eve.

The reason of us going there was to so called celebrate Christmas in advance and visit the place again since we haven't been there for years. Probably for about 8-9 years? Yes, it was that long.

Didn't do much when we arrived in Genting on Saturday. Laid back in the hotel for a few hours and explored the Genting Walk. Wasn't really amazed by the architectural works since I've seen them before and could recognize them. Hence, less pictures were taken. But what I love was the beautiful weather and of course, the very pretty mist! I love being among the mist, always do and always will! :D

Stayed in Theme Park Hotel. My cousins and their parents tagged along with us. Our rooms were connected to each other, so it made our lives easier to communicate with each other!

The view from my hotel window. Loving the mist!

The beautiful garden outside the hotel! Took this from the hotel window too.

Bought a cotton candy. :3

Apparently my mom was trying to focus on the sign board written Ripley's Believe It or Not...
Please forgive her photography skills lol.

Outside the haunted house.

Those who knows me personally would know that I am a coward. I'm afraid of watching horror movies, listening to ghost stories and even a picture of a ghost or a ugly creature would freak me out. What more a haunted house. I don't know what brought over me this time to actually pay to enter a haunted house. Yes, I entered the haunted house with my sister and cousin.

First, they led us up to the haunted house in a ride which looks like a haunted house itself made out of wood. The guy who asked us to enter the ride was scary himself, for he was holding a fake ax and slamming it on the ground while shouting at us. ._. My cousin said the guy hit his feet by accident. I wonder whether he did it on purpose or he was mad.

I was already filled with regrets by then for agreeing to visit the haunted house. T.T My sister who was known for being the brave one felt scared too.

Once we stepped out of the ride, we were given fake guns each. We were instructed to shoot glowing red or blue lights and informed that there was going to be a scary man. I died a little inside for a moment. There were six of us altogether, five girls and one boy which was my cousin. Since he was the only guy, he took the lead.

I have to admit that the haunted house was pretty lame. All we did was walk through corridor and stairs and shoot at random glowing lights. There were also moving pictures of skeletons and zombies but my cousin shot them all since he was leading. He claimed that he got sprinkled by water which happened to be the blood coming out of the zombie he shot. xD We were also accompanied by creepy music and scary statues of monsters and zombies but it was so dark that we couldn't really see the statues either.

There was this really scary moment in the haunted house. Once we were reaching the end of our journey, the path was entirely dark. Out of all sudden, I heard someone barging out of the door and footsteps of someone running. The guy was the "scary man" the instructor mentioned earlier on. And he was chasing us. All of us screamed and ran for our life. xD That was the end lol.

As lame as it sounds, I was still feeling afraid throughout the whole journey. I screamed at almost everything and held my sister's jacket all the time hahaha. My cousin was unsatisfied with the haunted house for there were nothing much and he didn't get to see the scary man. He said that he should have went last instead lol. Oh, and all those shooting was for nothing.

Had steamboat for dinner! Aunt brought her electric stove and steamboat pot along. Went over to her room and gobble up all the food!

The next day, we visited the Genting Outdoor Theme Park. Honestly, the theme park was a disappointment to me. There were not many new rides and it was not well maintained. We didn't get to ride many thriller rides due to the rainy weather and the friggin long queues. I guessed luck wasn't on our side. :(

We still managed to sit on some fun rides like the Bumper Boat! That was the best ride I sat in the whole theme park lol. My mom and aunt laughed till they cried when they watched my cousin sister controlling her boat. Mom said she could be a F1 racer in the future trololol.

All time favorite game!

Queuing up for our next ride which was the Pirate Boat.

My cousins and sister wanted to play this super scary ride and being a coward like I always am, I backed out. While they were lining up, I made good use of the time to take pictures and urm, camwhore. :P

#ootd

The adults got hungry, so we ate at one of the restaurants in the theme park. Note that my sis and cousins were still queuing up for the Flying Coaster ride lol. So I was chilling with the old people~

There was this guy performing skills he has in front of the stage. And I kid you not, he is one super flexible guy.

Crazy!!!

My sis and cousins gave up waiting for the ride because it was closed temporarily for maintenance. They waited for more than an hour for nothing. -_- Luckily I backed out earlier.

Took our lunch at around 4pm. Continued trying out the other rides which the queue wasn't really long.

For example, the Ferris Wheel.

Before snapping the picture,
Dad: Put your chin up, you will look better that way.

Mom: Eww, I look fat. Take again.

Mom: See! I look better with my chin down. Shall not listen to you anymore.
Dad: ....

HAHAHAH!

Cousins and their parents in the wheel beside ours.

Queuing up for the Bumper Boat! While I was in this very unglam condition, Samuel Lee decided to come up to me and said hi. I was so shocked hahah.

The mist became heavier and the weather became more cold when the sun went down. We took the advantage to try out all other rides at night because there were lesser people there.

Had dinner at Marrybrown. Mom said that their chicken tastes better than the chicken served at KFC. I thought they tasted the same. Slept early that night for I was drained. The rest went to check out the casino and the shops around the casino.

On the last day which was Monday, we did nothing much. Checked out of the hotel at 12.30pm and decided to go for a swim. Which we regretted so much after that. The water was so shallow (like below my knee! And I'm short.) and most of the slides were closed. It was quite dirty at certain spots too. Got out of the pool in less than 20 minutes lol.

Lunch was at a high tea restaurant known as Restoran Kampong. The food served were mostly local food. Quite satisfied with my Christmas Eve's lunch.

Spices arranged in shades of brown! So purdy.

So that concludes my Genting trip!
