MONTHLY FAVORITES: April & May 2013
posted: 9:35 PM | comments: 0

Coming up is another monthly favourites post which I haven't done in ages! Combining April and May together because I don't really have much things to share in just one month due to exam.

BEAUTY

Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Leave In Cream

My old bottle of hair serum ran out, so I picked this up at Guardian two months ago. I have really dry and frizzy hair which is pretty easy to tell. I use this product everyday as a last-minute fix-up in the morning before I leave for school or before my tuition classes, church meetings- basically whenever I go out. Unlike other girls (especially on Instagram) who have especially gorgeous bed hair, mine turns out the opposite every morning. This product does help to keep my hair in place and tuck all the split ends together. I also tried applying after washing my hair or before I go to bed and that helps to make my hair look better. Though it didn't leave my hair straight as it says, it left it soft and only slightly wavy, which looked pretty good.

I am also loving the smell of the cream and the pump is a plus! It keeps the application clean and allows you to control how much you want to use.

The downside of this product is it feels really oily especially if you wash your hands immediately after the application. It does keep my hair in place but not for the whole day.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo

Another Herbal Essences product! It comes in one of my favorite colours which is blue. This product helps to nourish my hair and keep it smelling heavenly! Unlike its leave in cream, the smell last a lot longer which is a good thing for me.

FASHION

Triangle shaped ring from Diva

I love how simple the ring looks yet it matches with almost every outfit I have in my closet. Love the contrast of gold and silver in the design and how tiny it is. This ring goes with almost everything. The only downside is that I got it in a size which is a little too tight for me.

Pleather skirt from Forever 21

I have been searching for a black pleather skirt for the longest time! Kept seeing it everywhere on Youtube but it is no where to be found in Malaysia. I was overjoyed when I finally found one at Forever 21. Absolutely like the skater design of the skirt and the way the fabric folds. One of my favorite piece in my closet now. :D

FOOD

Love letters by Julie's

It doesn't look so good in this picture lol but don't judge a junkie by its appearance. ;)

These love letters are so addictive and they become especially delicious during exams. I believe I am not the only one who becomes super hungry while studying for exams. They are so so yummy that I finished 3 quarters of the tin in one month. Think about all those calories I have consumed... gah I am such a pig when it comes to food.

Ribena gummies

I am sure I mentioned before about how I love gummies! One of my favorite gummies is by Ribena. I actually prefer the blackcurrant flavor over the mixed berries flavor but it's okay they both are still yummy. I like how these gummies come in packets like this which can be sealed and opened whenever I want to. Makes gummies eating much easier! xD

TV DRAMAS

The Rippling Blossom

The show was released in 2011 but I only watched it this year. :( It is a TVB modern romance drama series and yes I do watch Hong Kong dramas. In fact, I had been watching them since I was seven and I love them. Except that I still do not speak fluent Cantonese till today. /.\

This drama is about two brothers who are Japanese cuisine chefs whose main aim in life is to pursue excellence in cuisine. The drama started off well when suddenly the relationship between the siblings worsens due to the troubles caused by their dad's first wife. The brothers also managed to get together with their loved ones after going through several obstacles. Love how witty and funny this drama is but romantic and tragic at the same time. Also, I love watching how the pieces of sushi are made and I got to learn more facts about fishes through this drama!

SONGS

Haven't been able to catch up the latest songs due to mid-terms (I blame everything on mid-terms). My favorite songs for these two months will be Heart Attack by Demi Lovato. The song is catchy but I find the music video a quite weird and unrelated to the song lol. Demi too looks different in the video.

Also have been listening to is 50 Ways To Say Goodbye by Train. The music video and the lyrics are uhm, let's just say they do match my liking but the beat and the rhythm of the song itself is nice. As you can tell I am pretty outdated in the music industry now because I only found out about this song a year after it was released. xD

OTHERS

Hand Sanitizer by Watsons

This bottle of hand sanitizer smells like baby lotion! I could not stop sniffing my hands after sanitizing my hand with this hand sanitizer. If you noticed, I love anything that smells amazing hehe. The tiny little blue dots in the bottles are vitamin E which I believe they help in scrubbing germs away from your hand. Brought this to school the other day and five people used it because of its smell loool.

And that's it!
